Our Inspiration: Sweet Mabel Farm

At the heart of SMF Prints is Sweet Mabel Farm, a name that resonates with love, history, and the enduring spirit of Mabel Wimmer. Growing up in Southwest Virginia, I had the privilege of knowing Mabel, a remarkable woman whose influence has been a guiding force in my life.

From those chilly winter days delivering firewood to the warm, shared moments in church pews, Mabel was a constant presence. Her support knew no bounds, extending even to my days in the Air Force with weekly letters that reached me as far as Korea.

Eight years ago, a serendipitous opportunity allowed me to acquire and restore Mabel's 1930s farmhouse and its surrounding 20 acres in Floyd County. This place, post-renovation, transformed into more than just a home; it became the birthplace of our KuneKune Pigs and the heart of Sweet Mabel Farm.
