Privacy policy

At SMF Prints, I keep this simple: I collect what I need to make and ship your order, I use a few advertising and analytics tools to run the store, and I do not sell your personal information for money. Here is exactly what that means.

Information I Collect

  • Order and contact details you give me: name, shipping address, email, phone number, and any notes, photos, or logo files you send for a custom order.
  • Payment information: processed securely by my payment provider. I never see or store your full card number.
  • Automatic data: when you visit smfprints.com, information like your device type, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and items you add to cart or buy is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar tools.

How I Use It

  • To make, fulfill, and ship your order, and to send order and tracking updates.
  • To reply to your messages and provide support.
  • To send marketing or product emails or texts, only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To measure how the site and my ads perform, and to show ads to people who have visited the site or are likely to be interested in PouchGuard.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, and to improve the products and the site.

Who I Share It With

I share information only with the services that make the store run, and only as needed:

  • Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders.
  • Payment processors, to charge your order securely.
  • Shipping carriers such as USPS, to deliver your package.
  • Advertising and analytics partners, described in the next section.

I do not sell your personal information for money. I do share limited data with advertising partners so they can measure and target ads, which some state laws call "sharing." You can opt out of that below.

Advertising and Analytics

These tools run on smfprints.com. Each receives data about your visit, and some receive hashed (scrambled) versions of your email or phone number when you place an order so they can match the purchase to an ad you saw.

  • Google Analytics measures site traffic and behavior.
  • Google Ads tracks whether a click on one of my ads led to a purchase, and may show you ads on Google and its partner sites.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) uses the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure purchases from my ads and to show ads on Facebook and Instagram.
  • TikTok uses a pixel for the same purpose on TikTok.

Your Opt-Out Choices

  • Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: use the link in the site footer, or email ben@smfprints.com with the subject "Do not share." I will stop sharing your data with advertising partners.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, I treat it as an opt-out of sharing automatically.
  • Cookie banner: where required by law, you will see a cookie choice when you first visit. You can change it any time from the footer.
  • Ad settings at the source: Google: adssettings.google.com. Meta: facebook.com/adpreferences. TikTok: in the TikTok app under Settings, Ads.
  • Industry opt-outs: optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org
  • Browser cookies: you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well.

Data Retention

I keep order records as long as needed to run the business and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Advertising and analytics data is kept according to each partner's retention limits, typically 2 to 26 months. You can ask me to delete personal information that I am not required to keep.

Your Rights

You can ask me to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you, and you can opt out of marketing at any time. To make a request, email ben@smfprints.com. I will confirm your identity and respond within 45 days. I will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, or other US state privacy laws, and I will honor those requests.

Children

This store is not directed to children under 18, and I do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top and post the new version here.
